Terms and Conditions

 

 

Cancellation of lessons

 

If you or your instructor wish to cancel a lesson a minimum of 48 hours prior notice should be given. If your instructor cancels a lesson without giving this minimum period of notice your instructor shall rearrange the lesson. Cancellations by you must be made by calling or text your instructor directly.

If you do not give at least 48 hours notice of cancellation you will be charged for the lesson(s) concerned in full. Please note that in the event of you having booked your driving test, we advise you to give four clear working days to cancel your test. This may mean that you may/will lose your DVSA test fee if your instructor says you are not ready for test within this three day notice period.

Block Booking discount deals are not refundable as you are committing to that time in advance in return for the discount.

Intensive course conditions

​

To book the course, a minimum deposit of £400 is required.

From the time of booking and up to 14 days prior to the start of the course, we can refund everything except an administration fee of £50. 100% of the course plus (if applicable) DVSA test fee must be paid at least 7 days prior to the course start; During this period and up to two days before the course starts, we can only refund up to 50% of the course fee.

If the course is cancelled by you with less than two days notice, 100% of the total course fee is chargeable.

In case your instructor becomes unavailable, we will provide an alternative instructor, in which case lesson times may be rearranged within reasonable expectations.  If we are unable to provide an alternative instructor, we will either issue a credit note or issue a full refund for the remaining lessons. Test: Please note if your instructor feels you are not safe or ready to take a test at the end of any of the courses we will ask you to move your test and take additional hours until ready. This is normally assessed via a mock test. You may continue to take a test independently without your instructor or their car, using a suitably insured and roadworthy private car, if you disagree.

Lessons

 

You and your instructor are responsible for agreeing all matters relating to the timing, location and duration of individual lessons.

You must notify your instructor of any matters which affect your ability or entitlement to have driving tuition, for example, but not limited to, any lack, or loss, of a valid UK provisional driving licence.

 

Tuition

 

Tuition is only available to persons who meet the following criteria:

• Aged 17 or over or aged 16 or over and in receipt of the higher rate of Disability Living Allowance (mobility component); and

• hold a valid UK provisional driving licence; and

• legally entitled to drive in the UK.

 

Price changes

 

The cost of prepaid tuition is based on the lesson price in force at the time of booking and, with the exception of the circumstances set out below, will be honoured for 3 months thereafter irrespective of any price increase that may occur between the date of booking and when the lessons are taken. Any unused lessons remaining after 3 months have elapsed shall have any lesson price increase applied prior to the lessons which shall become payable by you.

 

Circumstances where, if you have prepaid, you will be either be required to pay an additional amount beyond the cost of your pre-paid lessons or receive a refund of some of your prepayments (as applicable):

 

• Where you have requested to switch to tuition in a car with automatic transmission, you will be required to pay any such supplement.

• Where you have not undertaken any lessons for a period of three months & prices have changed.

 

Special offers and discounts

 

P&Q Driving School presents a great range of offers and discounts to new and existing learner pupils on learning to drive and other related products. P&Q Driving School reserves the right to introduce (and to withdraw) special offers from time to time.

Introductory offers are only available to new learner pupils, cannot be used in conjunction with other offers and are not transferable.

 

Refund policy and warranty

You are entitled to cancel your tuition at any time EXCLUDING BLOCK BOOKING DEALS THESE ARE NON REFUNDABLE (for the provisions relating to the cancellation of individual lessons please see 'Cancellation of lessons' above 48 Hours Notice required). If you have not taken any lesson(s) at the time of cancellation you will be entitled to a full refund within 7 days of purchase of any amounts paid to P&Q Driving School, subject to the points below.

• If you have taken lesson(s) at the time of cancellation you will not be eligible for a refund on any lessons taken.

• Where it is possible to do so, we will refund you using the same method you used to pay for your lessons when you made the payment. If for any reason we are unable to do this, we reserve the right to refund you by any other method we deem appropriate.

• We may request additional information from you to confirm your identity in order to comply with the Money Laundering Regulations 2007; we will also use this information to ensure adherence to our Merchant Operating Instructions for card collection facilities.

• Refunds of prepayment of non discounted lessons may take up to 10 working days to reach you or your account.

• Block Booking discount deals are non refundable as you are committing to that time in advance in return for discount.

• In the event of a 'buy one get one free' offer, no refund will take place once the first lesson has been taken.

 

Short notice test bookings

Test: Please note if your instructor feels you are not safe or ready to take a test at the end of any of the above courses we will ask you to move your test and take additional hours until ready. This is normally assessed via a mock test.

 

A short notice test is when there are 4 weeks or less from the date of the first planned lesson to the booked test date. Before making a booking or taking payment for a short notice test please be aware of the following terms and conditions:

 

Booking of a Short Notice Test package consists of a minimum of 12 hours of driving instructor and tuition vehicle time.

 

During the first 2 hours you will be assessed by your driving instructor. If after the initial two hour assessment the Driving Instructor tells you that you are not ready, we will not take you to test.

 

If you need additional tuition prior to the test the Driving Instructor will explain this to you. You will need to be available for the time slots he/she is available should you wish to take these lessons. If you cannot take the required hours we will not be able to take you for test.

 

If the driving instructor says you are not ready for test; You may book further lessons to improve & go for a later test date after further tuition.

 

If you change your mind after you have made a short notice test booking and wish to cancel your booking, our standard terms and conditions apply with a minimum of 48-hours notice required prior to the lesson and cancelling with less than this notice will result in a 100% 2 hour lesson charge.
